Pancake Tuesday
8th Mar 2011
It was pancakes all the way today in St. Mary's with Miss McKillion and Sinead ensuring that the children weighed, measured and whisked their way to delicious pancakes. The children then chose their toppings and enjoyed their treat before heading back to their class.
It is customary to eat pancakes on Pancake Tuesday - the day preceding Lent because they were a way to use up rich foodstuffs such as eggs, milk, and sugar, before the fasting season of Lent began.
