Readers galore
St. Mary's pupils are reading, reading, reading. Our Parent Librarian has been totally up our Term 1 data and has calculated that 1203 books have been borrowed (and hopefully read) from our KS1 and KS2 library. This is an average of 240 books per class! Further analyis of the data shows that the boys have read 609 books whilst the girls have read 594 books. This goes a long way to support the schools target of boosting reading for enjoyment within the school. The children have the opportunity to change their library book and select a new one each and every Monday. This term book recommendations will be added as a further element to engage readers with awards for the best each month. Each Tuesday of this month every class will visit the Library in Coalisland to listen to a story; find out about how to become a member and how to use the library. This will be funded as part of the Extended Schools Programme
