Today the children and staff took time to welcome Martina’s family to school to help them dedicate a special eco-friendly table in memory of her life and work at st. Mary’s P.S.
‘Martina’s Talking Table’ will have a special place in the children’s playground and will be a lasting legacy to Martina and her contribution to the school.
Mrs Hamill invited the children to share their happy memories of Martina with her family. The children were able to recall how she, always made time to have a chat, sang Happy Birthday to them, made them laugh and they also recalled her generosity too.
The entire school community were delighted to have been involved with helping to commemorate Martina Newell who was a very special person and who gave much to the life and spirit of our school.
