Department of Education have today encouraged all parents/carers to help keep our children and young people and educational settings safe by following the guidance. You can do this by:
- Keeping any young person (age 5 to 17), with symptoms of COVID-19 at home until they can get a PCR test at a local testing centre;
- Arranging for children and young people to isolate if they have been a close contact and to take a PCR test. If the test is negative, there is no longer a need to self-isolate for ten days and they can return to school;
- If the young person who is a close contact develops symptoms at any time they should immediatly self isolate and book a PCR test, even if the earlier test were negative.
